Reports that Lucy Vincent Beach seemed gone forever were premature. A 'wash ashore' descends upon Menemsha. The West Chop Beach Club took a pounding. 'No gas today' was the Menemsha motto. A stairway to hell at Squibnocket. The boat yard in Vineyard haven was a washout. Homeless birds found little shelter during the height of the storm. Wind whipped sea foam looked like huge snowflakes. The Lucy Vincent shoreline took a beating, but has already come back, to a degree. Owen Park in Vineyard Haven has seen better days.
A 'captured occasion' at Squibnocket.
The homeless in Rockaway look for donated clothing. A not so welcoming welcome. Rubble heaps were everywhere to be found in Queens. Two weeks after hurricane Sandy struck, the waterfront in Rockaway was still in ruins.
The Harbor Beach Pub was open to nothing.
